Emergency Services

The mission of our Emergency Services Department at MPNN BH is clear and unwavering: to provide a 24-hour response to any individual in the MPNN community who may be experiencing acute distress or dysfunction due to behavioral health issues. Our dedicated team is here to provide comprehensive emergency evaluations, with a focus on determining the need for inpatient psychiatric admission and crisis intervention services. Our goal is to work with individuals, their families, and community agencies to maintain the safety of those we serve in the least restrictive community setting.

Key Highlights of Our Emergency Services:

• Comprehensive Assessments: We conduct thorough evaluations to understand and address the unique needs of individuals in crisis, working to ensure they receive the appropriate level of care.
• Crisis Intervention: We provide crisis intervention services, supporting individuals and their families during challenging moments in their lives. Our goal is to offer guidance, compassion, and a pathway to stability.
• Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM): Our department offers CISM, a crisis intervention approach designed to provide support for those who have experienced traumatic events. We can implement CISM with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities, fostering resilience and healing.
• The COPE LINE: We operate The COPE LINE (Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies), a 24-hour telephone hotline (1-800-542-2673/804-693-2673) for individuals in crisis who are seeking professional help. We provide a lifeline of support, guidance, and hope.
