Court Related Services at MPNN BH
At MPNN BH, we are dedicated to providing compassionate support to individuals with mental illness or suspected mental illness who are involved with the Courts. Our Forensic Services team plays a crucial role in assisting those in need, especially those incarcerated in the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, Gloucester Jail, and Lancaster Jail. We offer mental health and substance abuse services, along with essential resources for those preparing to return to the community.
Our Court Related Services Include:
- Restoration Services: For individuals found Incompetent to Stand Trial, the Court may require efforts to restore their competency so they can participate in their defense. We provide:
- Community-Based Restoration Services: For individuals living in the community or those who are incarcerated.
- Inpatient Restoration Services: Conducted at the state hospital level, with support from our Intensive Community Services Department (ICS).
- Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI): For individuals acquitted of a crime due to their mental state at the time of the offense. Our ICS staff specializes in:
- Discharge Planning: Creating a Conditional Release Plan (CRP) outlining post-release responsibilities.
- Case Management: Monitoring compliance with the release plan if the Court approves it.
- Criminal Temporary Detention Order: For individuals needing emergency psychiatric care at the state hospital while incarcerated. Our staff work with state hospital professionals to:
- Assist in Stabilization: Help with stabilization and transition back to the jail.
